New Hampshire Economy Reaches Unprecedented Heights

Concord, NH – Today, New Hampshire Employment Security released the October 2019 jobs report, which shows that the state's labor force increased by 1,730 over the past month to an all-time high of 774,540. The total number of employed residents increased by 1,350 over the last month to 754,600. Following release of the report, Governor Sununu issued the following statement:

"Today's jobs report is the latest in a string of good news for the New Hampshire economy," said Governor Chris Sununu. "The Granite State is leading the nation in economic prosperity and opportunity. That's no accident. We've put politics aside and focused on promoting policies that allow New Hampshire families the freedom to spend their money as they see fit, and the results could not be a more resounding success."

754,600 New Hampshire residents are now employed, an increase of 9,320 in the past year. The labor force has grown by 10,940 in the past year.

Today's jobs data follows earlier reports of positive economic indicators, which show that New Hampshire is the number one state for economic freedom, has the lowest poverty rate in the nation over the last three years, is the most popular place in the Northeast for millennials to locate themselves, has more people working  than ever before, and is the number one state for taxpayer return on investment.
