Governor Sununu Statements on Various House Bills
Concord, NH - Today, Governor Chris Sununu issued the following statements pertaining to various House votes:
SB 239: relative to implementation of the blue alert system in New Hampshire
"I commend the legislature of passage of SB239, which will speed the apprehension of violent criminals who kill or seriously injure local, state, or federal law enforcement officers. I look forward to this bill reaching my desk."
SB292: relative to implementation of the new mental health 10-year plan
"Over the past two years, we have made significant strides to rebuild New Hampshire's mental health system but more work must be done. Through our new 10 Year Mental Health Plan, we are establishing a road map for the next decade that will make New Hampshire's mental health system the gold standard for the rest of the nation. Through SB292, we will ensure that there is accountability in how the state implements that plan. I thank the legislature for putting this important measure forward."
SB208: renaming the adjutant general's department to the department of military affairs and veterans services
"I want to thank the legislature for ensuring that the reforms we began under my Executive Order to improve care for our veterans remains permanently in place. This bill will bring coordinated veterans services under one roof in New Hampshire, which will bring resources together to streamline services for one simple goal: better outcomes for our veterans."
SB6: relative to child protection staffing and making an appropriation therefor
"Senate Bill 6 seeks to build upon the progress we made with child welfare system reform in 2018. Rebuilding our child welfare system has been a priority since day one. I continue to believe we need to put more frontline workers in the field to protect our most vulnerable children, and will review the final language of the bill should it reach my desk."
