Governor Sununu Hosts Anti-Bullying Workshop

Concord, NH - Today, Governor Chris Sununu welcomed students, teachers, principals, superintendents, legislators, and advocates to the corner office for an anti-bullying workshop. Today's workshop is the first step towards developing a comprehensive plan to address all forms of bullying in New Hampshire's schools in-person or online.

"It is incredibly important to me that no child in New Hampshire fears being bullied in school," said Governor Chris Sununu. "It is more critical than ever, following the recent tragedies, that we acknowledge that bullying is an ongoing challenge in our schools that can only be tackled by bringing all stakeholders to the table and working together to solve them. Today's workshop is the first step in the right direction, and I look forward to continuing to work together with students, parents, teachers, principals, and superintendents to make it very clear that bullying will not be tolerated in New Hampshire schools."

Christine Brennan, Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Education and former principal of Manchester's Beech Street School, said after the workshop "Today's workshop is a big step in the right direction. It will help us understand how we at the state level can be a partner in ensuring the best outcome for New Hampshire's children by working together with students, teachers, principals, and superintendents. The Department of Education is committed to doing whatever we can to end bullying in our schools."
