Governor Chris Sununu Statement on HB 552

Concord, NH – Today, Governor Chris Sununu issued the following statement after signing HB 552, relative to transparency and standards for acquisition transactions in health care, into law:

"Anytime New Hampshire's health care providers merge or affiliate, it only makes sense for the state to ensure that these transactions will benefit patients; especially those needing mental health or SUD services. House Bill 552 provides the State with the ability to examine these arrangements to ensure that they result in lower costs to patients with a higher quality of care. The bill also increases transparency by improving the public's opportunity to weigh in on the potential impact a transaction would have on access to health care."
