Governor Chris Sununu Statement Following House Vote on HB 706

Concord, NH – Today, Governor Chris Sununu issued the following statement after the House voted to sustain his veto of HB 706, establishing an independent redistricting commission:

"Cases of gerrymandering in New Hampshire are incredibly rare, and our current processes are fair and representative of the people of our state," said Governor Chris Sununu. "I would like to thank the Legislature for agreeing that the true power should lie with them, and not unelected and unaccountable commissions led by political party bosses."
