Governor Chris Sununu Signs Senate Joint Resolution 2

Concord, NH – Today, Governor Chris Sununu signed Senate Joint Resolution 2 (SRJ-2), awarding the New Hampshire Medal of Honor to Captain Ryan S. Phaneuf of Hudson, New Hampshire.

"Captain Phaneuf made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may continue to live freely," said Governor Chris Sununu. "All of New Hampshire, and America, mourns the loss of this great hero. Today's signature will not erase the unimaginable sadness his family has endured, but it does forever memorialize that Captain Phaneuf was an American Hero, and the State of Hampshire will always be grateful."

Per statute Chapter 110-B, "The governor shall present the New Hampshire medal of honor awarded under this section to the family members of the recipient."
