Governor Chris Sununu Signs Executive Order Guaranteeing State of NH Job Interviews for NH National Guard Members

Concord, NH – Today, Governor Chris Sununu signed Executive Order 2019-05, an order providing for State Government employment opportunities for qualified current and former members of the New Hampshire National Guard. This Executive Order will ensure that all former and current members of the NH National Guard are guaranteed a job interview with the State of New Hampshire for most publicly posted job opportunities for which a member meets the minimum qualifications.

"Our National Guardsmen and women have stood tall for us here in New Hampshire," said Governor Chris Sununu. "With the stroke of a pen, we are making sure our past and present NH National Guard members know that the State will be there for them simply because it is the right thing to do. Today's action will also help to boost the Guard’s recruiting efforts, which will keep our Guard strong and ready to serve the people of our great state.

This Executive Order builds upon the memorandum of understanding signed earlier this year by Governor Chris Sununu that guarantees members of the United States Army an interview with the State of New Hampshire.
