Governor Chris Sununu to Nominate Dianne Martin as Next Chairwoman of the Public Utilities Commission

Concord, NH – Governor Chris Sununu announced today that he will nominate Dianne Martin, of Deerfield, New Hampshire, to serve as the next Chairwoman of the Public Utilities Commission. The nomination will be made at the August 28th Executive Council meeting.

"I am pleased to nominate Dianne Martin for this incredibly important position," said Governor Chris Sununu. "Dianne has extensive experience as an attorney within state government, and has worked with various agencies throughout her career to advocate for the public good. Her knowledge of state government and administrative law is key to this position, and Dianne will do incredible work leading the Public Utilities Commission."

"I'd like to thank the Governor for the confidence he's placed in me with this nomination," said Dianne Martin. "The Public Utilities Commission serves a vital role in the lives of New Hampshire residents. This position offers the opportunity to extend and broaden my work over the last decade in protecting the public as a member of the Attorney General's Office."

Dianne currently serves as Associate Attorney General and Chief of Staff to Attorney General Gordon MacDonald at the New Hampshire Department of Justice, where she oversees and is responsible for the day-to-day operations at the office. Dianne is also the Lead Contracts and Procurement Attorney within the Civil Bureau at the NH DOJ, and was previously an Assistant Attorney General within the Transportation and Construction Bureau for five years at NH DOJ. Throughout her tenure at NH DOJ, Dianne has served as legal counsel to numerous state departments, boards and commissions.

The previous chairman of the Public Utilities Commission, Martin Honigberg, was nominated by Governor Sununu and confirmed by the Executive Council on August 14th, 2019, to serve as a Superior Court Judge.

Following the nomination at the August 28th Executive Council meeting, a confirmation vote will likely take place at the September 18th Executive Council meeting.
