Governor Chris Sununu Appoints Jared Chicoine as Department of Energy Interim Commissioner

Concord, NH – Governor Chris Sununu announced today that he will appoint Jared Chicoine, of North Haverhill, New Hampshire, to serve as Interim Commissioner of the newly established New Hampshire Department of Energy, effective July 1, 2021.
 
“I am pleased to designate Jared as Interim Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Energy, where he will continue his work as Director of the Office of Strategic Initiatives to open new opportunities for streamlining energy policy, and delivering the best deal possible for ratepayers,” said Governor Chris Sununu. “Jared will play a vital role in preparing this new Department for success while ushering in a new approach to energy in New Hampshire state government.”
 
Jared has served as Director of the New Hampshire Office of Strategic Initiatives since 2017.
 
Note: Until appointment of a commissioner is made, under RSA 12-P:4 the Governor may initially designate an interim commissioner to serve for up to 60 days.
