Governor Chris Sununu, National Drug Czar Tour Recovery Friendly Workplaces

July 12, 2019

Governor Chris Sununu toured the Grappone Automotive Group in Bow, New Hampshire, along with United States Drug Czar Jim Carroll on Thursday, June 27th. The Grappone Automotive Group was an early adopter of Governor Sununu's Recovery Friendly Workplace Initiative, which encourage employers to develop healthy and safe environments for those impacted by addiction.

Recovery Friendly Workplaces seek to provide those coping with addiction an environment in which they can speak without fear to their coworkers, helping them maintain a job, and introducing them into an environment in which help is readily available and accessible. Sununu and Carroll toured the facility and listened to the firsthand experiences of employees who have benefited from the program. After their tour, Carroll, who oversees the Office of National Drug Control Policy, praised the initiative and said that there is potential for Sununu's Recovery Friendly Workplace Initiative to have a national impact if it were to be adopted in other states.
