The Governor unveiled his Roadmap to Common Ground on Wednesday. It compromises and provides an additional $30 million for Medicaid provider rate increases as well as funding for stabilization grants for schools. However, the Governor won’t budge on certain topics such as paid-family leave and budget tax increases. According to many small businesses across New Hampshire, tax increases will do nothing but hurt them. The Governor believes that since we have a couple hundred million dollars in surplus in New Hampshire, telling Granite State residents that we are going to raise their taxes is simply irresponsible. The Governor is open to compromise with the Democratically controlled Legislature, and is looking forward to bipartisan work.
